[df_adh_heading title_infix=”Crock Pot Apple Cobbler” _builder_version=”4.23.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/df_adh_heading]

The crock pot saves the day for this easy apple cobbler recipe. Make your own apple pie filling or skip a step and buy store-bought. It will taste great either way! Try out different toppings, like caramel sauce or whipped cream. You could also try switching out the apple for other fruit flavors- blackberry, blueberry, cherry- we’re sure it would be great!

Ingredients:

Pie filling:

  • 4 sweet red apples, peeled and sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • 4 granny smith apples, peeled and sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1.5 t. cinnamon
  • 1/4 t. each nutmeg and allspice
  • 1 T. lemon juice

OR use 2 20 oz. cans of apple pie filling

  • 1 16 oz. box yellow cake mix
  • 6 T. butter
  • 1/2 t. cinnamon
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions:

  1. If making homemade apple pie filling, combine all ingredients in the crock pot until apples are well coated.
  2. If using store-bought apple pie filling, pour into the crock pot in an even layer.
  3. Pour the cake mix on top of the apples in an even layer. Do not mix!
  4. Melt the butter, then pour on top of the cake mix. Do not mix!
  5. Top with the extra cinnamon.
  6. Cook on High for 3-4 hours, until the top is set and the apples are tender.
  7. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream!
