Photography Sessions

We’re honored that you’d like to capture your special moments here at Mitchell’s Nusery & Greenhouse. 

Our greenhouses and gardens make a beautiful backdrop for portraits, engagements, maternity photos, family sessions, and other joyful occasions. 

Whether you’re a professional photographer, content creator, or a guest snapping a few quick photos, please consider the following guidelines.

Casual Photography

Visitors are welcome to take photos during regular business hours, free of charge.

We love seeing your photos! Please tag us on social media — @MitchellsNursery – and share your visit with others. 

Professional Photography Sessions

This section applies to professional, commercial, or scheduled portrait sessions that involve a paid photographer, multiple subjects, or extended time on-site.

All professional sessions must be approved, reserved, and paid for in advance.

Hours and Availability:

• Sessions must take place during regular business hours.
• Weekend or peak-season sessions may be limited depending on customer traffic and nursery activities
• We may not be able to accomodate large group or school dance photos during busy weekends — thank you for understanding.

Reservations and Payment

1. Complete the Photography Session Request Form (available in our office, by email)
2. Once your request is reviewed, we’ll contact you to confirm availability and provide an invoice.
3. Payment is due upon reciept to secure your session date and time.

Session Fees

Reserved 2-hour Outdoor Photography Permit

• $100: Winter (December – Early April)
• $150: Spring, Summer, and Fall (mid-April — November)
• $25: Each additional 30 minutes

(Permits apply to one photography session; no prorating for shorter sessions.)

Photography Guidelines

We want you to enjoy your session while helping us maintain a safe and beautiful environment for everyone. Please follow these rules:

Respect the Space:

• Stay within designated photo areas and out of restricted zones. 
• Keep aisles clear for customers and staff.
• Be considerate — allow others a turn in popular photo spots and limit setup time. 
• Carpool when possible; parking is limited during busy days.

Protect the Plants and Property

• Do not hang or lean objects (props, lights, clothing, bags) on trees, plants, or structures. 
• Plants may be gently moved with in a small area but must be returned to their exact spot, including watering tubes. 
• Do not step in plant beds or climb on benches, carts, ladders, or trees.
• No confetti, glitter, rice, or artificial petals. 
• Leave displays and sinage intact — these are part of our nursery design and not to be altered. 

Safety and Conduct

• Children must be supervised at all times.
• Pets must remain on leashes.
• No smoking, vaping, or alcohol.
• All subjects must be fully and appropriately clothed.
• Respect the privacy of others — please do not photograph customers or staff without permission.

Liability

Mitchell’s Nursery & Greenhouse is not responsible for injury, loss, theft, or damage to personal property or equipment.  Photographers are liable for the actions of their clients assistants, and guests, and for any damage caused to the nursery property or plant material.
