Here at Mitchell’s Nursery we have started on a new project this summer. At our Dalton road garden center, we have initiated the construction of a state-of-the-art greenhouse, scheduled for completion by early fall. This expansion comes at a perfect time, aligning with the arrival of the holiday season and the Nursery’s celebrated display of poinsettias.

The groundbreaking for the new greenhouse began in June. The new facility, designed to be energy-efficient and spacious, will cover eight new bays. This modern greenhouse will enhance the Nursery’s capacity to grow a wider variety of plants and improve the quality of the growing and shopping experience.

We’re thrilled about this new addition; our goal has always been to provide our customers with the best possible plants and flowers. This new greenhouse will allow us to do that even more. It will be fascinating to have it operating later this year. The new construction will support the growth of healthier poinsettias and other seasonal and year-round house plants easily accessible to customers.

Timing the greenhouse’s completion by early fall, the structure will be ready for its first batch of poinsettias, ensuring they are in perfect condition for the peak holiday shopping period. Beyond poinsettias, the new greenhouse will enable Mitchell’s Nursery to expand its offerings throughout the year. Customers can look forward to an even more incredible selection of houseplants, perennials, and exotic species, all cultivated under ideal conditions.

The community has expressed enthusiasm for the project as they continue to shop for plants during construction; we still have plenty of plants, shrubs, and trees. Long-time customers and local gardening enthusiasts eagerly anticipate this new addition’s benefits. Mitchell’s has always been a go-to place for gardening needs; we are excited to see what new plant varieties could come with the new greenhouse.
